Mouthful of Feathers is a writer’s collection focused on dogs and the pursuit of wild birds in wild places. The blog that spawned the book (and maintains a cult following) has been described as the ‘OG’ of hunting blogs.
My name is Reid Bryant. I am a hunter, angler, writer, and adventurer. I love nothing more than a well-told story, and I fall easily for colorful characters, less-traveled places, and pretty turns of phrase. Sometimes I collect such things, and put them down on paper. They are stored here, for you and me to share.
Sportsman as Writer

The top lever on the gun is well left of center, and the action is worn to white. I’d imagine that gun has been carried through some fine country. I’d imagine it’s been pointed at some birds.

Reid Bryant believes in the written word. In his experience, nothing has the lasting value of a well-crafted piece of writing. He works steadily to learn the craft, and so doing to tell stories, to teach skills, or simply to grab a hold of moments so that he can look at them more closely.
